    And so it began… as the summer of ’07 started to heat up, Single Serving Friends set out upon their journey of rock. Hailing from the typical sleepy city of Whitewater, Wisconsin. With the solitary goal of delivering their distinct power-pop anthems to the masses, the group was well on their way. Fronted by vocalist Emily Kopplin and joined by Hans Blanc on drums and bassist Jason Scibek, who together round out the rhythm section. Completing the lineup is the guitar duo of Tyler Cooley and Grant Gunderson . Single Serving Friends create some of the most fun and exciting music around today. The band have an enduring energy and endless enthusiasm, which along with their infectious style has led to an instant fan base.

    Following the dismantling of the local act known as Our Crowning Year, three of the members decided to press on and pursue a new musical direction. After weeks of auditioning singers that just weren’t right, Emily walked through the door and there was an instant connection. Her joining the band set everything in motion, as they immediately began writing songs together. With everything in place it was time to hit the studio and demo their latest material. These well crafted pop-pieces quickly turned into Myspace mainstays. “Under the Lights” and “Red Cup Romance” garnered thousands of plays in just a matter of weeks, providing Single Serving Friends much exposure.

    Naturally the next logical step was to play their first show. After setting a date and booking a local venue, the band promoted, practiced and perfected their set. The show was a tremendous success and many more followed. Nevertheless there was still something missing…

    The introduction of Grant and Tyler was the final piece of the puzzle; the addition filled out the sound and gave the group a new edge. Now with a solidified lineup as well as many new songs, the group is ready to break out and take over! They will enter the studio in the near future to record their debut effort entitled …Just for Tonight, which is set to be released later this year.
